About Me

I graduated from Goddard College in 2011 with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts. In addition to creating a powerful body of work writing, performing and creating with clay, I studied ritual, myth, psychology, archetypes and evolutionary astrology. I embodied my program through digging and processing wild clay. Addressing themes of Grief, Loss, and Healing, my thesis was aptly named Mud, Sweat, and Tears. I unearthed, sculpted, carved, and fully explored the ceramic materials, techniques, and firing ranges available. It was a transformative experience guided by intuition, dreams and academic rigor.

In 2014 I discovered Healing Trauma at the Clay Field, written by Cornelia Elbrecht. I traveled to Malta and then Italy to study Clay Field Work with a group of therapists, artists, and psychologists from all over the world. I gained two certifications as a facilitator for adults and children in Clay Field. I continue and deepen my studies in Transpersonal and Jungian Psychology and currently work with an Indian mystic, who is a master of body and mind.

I am a ceramic artist and educator. I operate a small teaching studio in Hallowell, Maine called Hallowell Clay Works. I also teach at the University of Maine at Augusta, Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle and The Maine Arts Commission statewide K-12. I am passionate about locally sourced Glacial marine clay.

Clay is my modality for healing trauma and empowering others to gain trust in their own creative abilities.
